Pass the Plate

The Heirloom Collection. Made personal.

Fill a keepsake box with recipes from the people who love the couple. Relatives write theirs before the wedding, guests add theirs at the tables, and the couple opens one box holding every recipe.

How it works

  1. 1

    Build your kit

Pick the size, the box, and the words printed on it.

  2. 2

    Send cards ahead

Relatives write their recipes before the wedding.

  3. 3

    Set the tables

Put cards and pens at the reception for guests to fill in.

  4. 4

    Give the box

Gather every card into the keepsake box and hand it to the couple.

Everyday or Heirloom?

They're different products for different jobs. The starter deck is a gift between friends. The kit is built for a whole family or event, so it's made with heavier materials and printed with your words.

Why it costs more

Better materials.

An index-card-style box and larger, heavier cards cost more than the standard deck, and the larger cards are made to last on a shelf for years.

Made for your event.

Each kit is printed with your names, your date and your message, and set up with its own journey page. That's work on every order, not a stock item.

More cards, more people.

A kit holds 25 to 150 recipes. Spread across a whole guest list, it works out to a few dollars per person.

Just want to swap recipes with a few friends? The starter deck is the better fit, and it's less than a third of the price.

A keepsake they'll open for years

Every recipe your family writes ends up in one elegant cream keepsake box with personalized detailing, ready to hand to the couple on the big day.

  • A cream keepsake box with a short telescoping lid and personalized names and date
  • Large 7 × 5 in cream cards, heavier and softer, with your names on the front and the whole recipe on the back
  • A page of every contributor, on your kit's journey page

Large cards, with room for the whole recipe

Kit cards are 7 × 5 in landscape. Your names, date and message are on one side, and the other side is all recipe, so nothing is squeezed.

Also for teams and milestones

The same kit works for a retirement, a team cookbook, or a family reunion. Everyone writes one recipe, and one box holds them all.

How many cards should I order?

Order a few more than the number of recipes you hope to collect. Not every guest will write one, and some cards will be set aside for mistakes.

Why is a kit so much more than the starter deck?

The kit has an ivory index-card-style keepsake box with gold foil, larger 7 × 5 in heavier cards (your names and message on one side, the whole recipe on the other), and room for up to 150 recipes. See the comparison above.

Can I change my wording after I order?

We email you a proof before anything is printed, so you can fix a typo or change a line first.

Can I return a kit?

Unused kits follow our returns policy. Once recipes are written in the cards, we can't take them back.
